Using equipment from Sennheiser, Shure, Studio Projects, Behringer, and Digidesign, I can record up to 16 high quality channels at one time! What I learned from my apprenticeship at a high end studio in Old City, Philadelphia (Turtle Studios) is that anything can be recorded (and recorded well!) with 16 channels available! Once recorded, the sound is tweaked and balanced using different filters and settings to get the best sound possible. The final step is to mix it down to the format you are looking for, whether it's for the web, mastering, video, or just to be put on CD.
